Some iOS 9.1 tricks that just supported on iPhone

(TNO) Apple has just released the iOS 9.1 update for users, adding a host of new features. If you are using an iPhone with iOS 9.1 installed, you can make use of some new tricks.

1. Disable contact pictures in the address book

iOS 9 added a feature that allows users to use pictures as avatars for certain contacts. However, in iOS 9.1, Apple added the option to disable/enable this feature if you don’t want to use pictures as avatars in the address book.

To enable/disable this feature, go to Settings > Messages > Show Contact Photos and then select On/Off.

2. Add new wallpapers

In iOS 9.1, Apple added some new landscape wallpapers for users.

To choose a new wallpaper, go to Settings > Wallpaper > Choose New Wallpaper.

3. Activate new emoji icons

iOS 9.1 added 150 new and unique emoji icons, which will allow for more expressive text messages or emails.

To access these new emoji icons, in a message or while composing a new text, tap on the smiley face icon located at the bottom left corner of the virtual keyboard (if you don’t see the smiley face, tap on the globe icon). Then, select the emoji icon you want to share.

4. Add Live Photo mode

Live Photos is a feature integrated into iPhone’s camera function. It automatically detects when users raise or lower their phone while taking a picture, eliminating unnecessary or blurry photos.

Apple sets the duration for this feature at 1.5 seconds, and when holding the phone to take a picture, just remember that Apple is giving you some time to capture a beautiful shot.

5. Activate desktop view for websites

When accessing a website on an iPhone using Safari, the default setting is to switch to mobile view. However, you can request Safari to open the website in desktop view.

To do this, when accessing any website, press and hold the reload button in the address bar. Safari will then give you the option to switch to desktop view.

6. Zoom in while watching videos

Previously, to zoom in on a photo, users only needed to use two fingers to pinch the screen. Now, iOS 9.1 also supports this feature while watching any video.

Specifically, while watching a video, if you want to zoom in on a specific detail, simply use two fingers to swipe on the area you want to view.
